Some diseases have manifestations in the tongue, but no one can “provide a complete health analysis by examining a patient’s tongue” (1). Lets look at some of the claims on this website;
“Trembling tongue … is a sign of anxiety and fear”. Truth is, trembling tongue (medical term: fasciculation) is rare and may be caused by a serious neurological disorder. If you have asymmetrical or trembling tongue, have a neurologist check you up. Symmetrical trembling tongue can be a sign of hyperthyroidism.
The website offers a tongue diagrams that shows imprinting on different locations on the tongue and claims they mean kidney, heart or lung problems. There is no scientific evidence to back these claims. These claims are baseless and not scientific. The claims can even be harmful by causing anxiety in prone patients and may lead to unnecessary invasive and costly procedures.
